This five-day course covers specific areas of nuclear inservice inspection in addition to jurisdictional and Nuclear Regulatory Commission requirements. Also addressing the National Board Inspection Code, this course is essential for keeping an authorized nuclear inservice inspector abreast of acceptance standards, nondestructive examination procedures, health physics, quality assurance, welding, and reporting requirements of ASME Section XI.
For National Board commission holders, this course meets one of the requirements of ASME QAI-1 for obtaining an "I" endorsement.
The course curriculum comprises the following:
- History and Philosophy of ASME Section XI
- ASME QAI-1
- Examination and Inspection Methods
- Repair and Replacement Code Requirements
- System Pressure Tests
- Component Support Code Requirements
- Concrete Component Code Requirements
- Security/Radiation Protection and Health/Safety Concerns
- Section XI NDE
Each registrant is required to bring the following materials (currently mandated edition/addendum):
- ASME Section V
- ASME Section XI
- ASME QAI-1
Endorsement testing is held last day of course. All Code books used on exam day must be free of any insert pages or notations and will be free of answers or crib sheets. Certificate of successful completion is awarded for passing the test.
Dress for all National Board courses and seminars is business casual.
