Each National Board Commissioned Inspector, at least once every three years, must either attend a National Board course or seminar or receive other instruction related to inspection. The instruction may be in any format, e.g., classroom, home study, or web-based.

The National Board asks each employer to provide a list of such continuing education for each inspector applicable to the current year.
