The Training Department celebrated a major milestone in June – the launch of our 100th online training course!
The latest addition to our growing catalog, “Fundamentals of Power Boiler Blowoff Systems,” is designed for Inservice Inspectors (IS) and O Endorsed Supervisors.
However, did you know the value of online courses goes far beyond National Board credentials because many of our online courses can also be used to meet renewal requirements for other industry certifications?
Organizations like the American Petroleum Institute (API), American Welding Society (AWS), and state licensing boards for Professional Engineers (P.E.) require continuing education as part of their recertification processes. Our training can help fulfill those requirements.
Here's how it works:
- Match the course to your credential: Most agencies require that the course topic be directly relevant to the certification. For example, API 510, 570, and 653 Inspectors must complete training in areas related to inspection or mechanical integrity to complete their continuing professional development hours. One such topic is piping inspection. We have courses on pressure piping design and piping system inspection, which would be available for those interested in learning more about either and to meet the continuing education requirement for their renewals.
- Take the course on your schedule: Most online offerings take two to three hours to complete and can be done at your own pace, one session at a time. This flexibility allows professionals to learn without disrupting their workday.
- Download your certificate: After completing a course, you’ll receive a certificate that includes contact hours – an essential detail for meeting most external renewal criteria.
What about classroom courses?
Many of our in-person courses also qualify as continuing education for renewing these industry credentials. Upon request, we will issue a letter with contact hours, course title, and date. To request one, email us at training@nbbi.org and include the course name, your name, and a mailing address if you’d prefer a printed copy.
