The National Board Remembers Daniel Price

The National Board is sad to announce the passing of Daniel C. Price on Saturday, June 22, 2019, in Whitehorse, Yukon. Mr. Price was the chief mechanical inspector for the Yukon Territory from 1989 until his retirement on August 18, 2010. He received his National Board Commission in 1994 and became Yukon’s very first National Board member. After his retirement, he was elected as an honorary member in appreciation of his outstanding service in the boiler and pressure vessel industry and was presented with a plaque at the 80th General Meeting in 2011.

Mr. Price graduated from the New Brunswick Institute of Technology in 1972. The following year, he went to work as an operating engineer and subsequently as a boiler operator for a St. John generating plant. In 1979, he became a boiler inspector in the Northwest Territories, eventually becoming the chief inspector in 1984.

Mr. Price’s obituary can be found by clicking here. He was also featured in a Profile in Safety in the fall 2004 issue of the BULLETIN. That issue can be found in our BULLETIN archives.
