National Board Synopsis Update

While an “at-a-glance” view of the 2019 updates to jurisdictional laws, rules, and regulations was published in the summer 2020 edition of the BULLETIN, a complete picture of prevailing requirements can always be found online, using the National Board Synopsis.

The National Board Synopsis of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Laws, Rules, and Regulations (NB-370), is a compilation of jurisdiction laws, rules, and regulations as reported to the National Board by jurisdictional authorities.

Available online since 2014, the Synopsis allows users to select specific jurisdictions for detailed information on current laws, rules, regulatory history, and contact information.

Each fall, the National Board provides participating jurisdictional authorities with instructions regarding the online Synopsis reporting method for both members and non-members.
