NBBI Mourns Martin "Marty" Sheeron Jr.

The National Board is saddened to learn of the January 30, 2021 passing of former Pennsylvania Chief Inspector Martin "Marty" Sheeron Jr. Mr. Sheeron was 70. Sheeron retired in 2011, after 16 years of service to the commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

He was employed by the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard in various capacities working with high-pressure naval boilers from 1968-1995, including boilermaker production superintendent.

An Army veteran, Sheeron also served 14 years as an ASME and National Board Review Team Leader.

He is survived by his wife, Diane Palmer Sheeron, three children and eight grandchildren.
