Upcoming National Board Nuclear Inspection Training Courses
 
The National Board’s Training Department offers four different nuclear inspector training courses at its campus in Columbus, Ohio. Remaining 2013 nuclear courses are scheduled in September, November, and December, as follows:
 
1.       Authorized Nuclear Inspector Course (N)
September 9-13, 2013
 
The Authorized Nuclear Inspector Course (N) is a five-day course that presents ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section III, Div. 1, Rules for Construction of Nuclear Facility Components requirements for classification of components and design of nuclear power plant items. The course also presents welding, nondestructive examination, and materials requirements for ASME Section III, Div. 1.
 
2.       Authorized Nuclear Inservice Inspector Course (I)
September 16-20, 2013
 
The Authorized Nuclear Inservice Inspector Course (I) is a five-day course presenting ASME Section XI, Rules for Inservice Inspection of Nuclear Power Plant Components requirements for inspection, examination, repair and replacement of items and documentation. This course also provides an overview of radiation health physics requirements.
 
3.       Authorized Nuclear Inspector Supervisor Course (NS)
November 18-22, 2013
 
The Authorized Nuclear Inspector Supervisor Course (NS) is a five-day course for individuals with the National Board "N" endorsement wishing to qualify as a supervisor. The course introduces the duties of a technical supervisor; the principles, techniques and tools used in monitoring inspection activities and auditing quality systems; and evaluating tests and examinations. The course also introduces the student to radiation health physics requirements. 
 
4.       Authorized Nuclear Inspector (Concrete) Course (C)
December 9-13, 2013
 
The Authorized Nuclear Inspector (Concrete) Course (C) is a five-day course that describes how to review a concrete mix design. This training introduces the ASME Section III, Division 2 requirements for material, design, fabrication, testing and code stamping of major concrete structures.
