A new member at large was voted in and six National Board members were awarded for years of service at the October Members’ Meeting in Columbus, Ohio, the week of October 6.
 
Mississippi Chief Ken Watson was elected a Board of Trustee member at large to complete the unexpired term of former Kansas Chief Don Jenkins, who retired July 1.
 
Also at the meeting, the following members were recognized for years of service with the National Board:
 
Madiha Kotb, Quebec, 25 years
Milton Washington, New Jersey, 15 years
John Burpee, Maine, 15 years
Joel Amato, Minnesota, 15 years
Michael Ryan, City of Chicago, IL, 10 years
Ronald Spiker, South Carolina, 5 years
 
In addition, North Dakota Chief Robert Reetz was also recognized as the longest serving National Board member, with over 31 years of service. Mr. Reetz announced his retirement effective the end of this year.
