Membership is composed of chief boiler and pressure vessel inspectors in the US and Canada who enforce pressure equipment laws and regulations in their jurisdictions.

 Account Manager / Customer Service Representative

Account Manager / Customer Service Representative

SUMMARY

The National Board of Boilers and Pressure Vessel Inspectors (NBBI) is seeking an exceptional, self-motivated, and versatile Account Manager/Customer Service Representative. This is a remote position. This person will be responsible for providing account management and customer support to a group of insurance carriers, inspection companies, and jurisdictions in their use of NBBI’s JRS system. This position is primarily responsible for developing and maintaining strong client relationships with 10-15 clients while also providing customer support (phone, email, etc.) to users of the system. Responsible for developing a clear understanding of client workflows, how the system is setup to support those workflows, and helping clients optimize efficiencies through their use of the system. The JRS account manager position requires a person with a strong desire to help others while paying close attention to detail and being an excellent communicator.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationship with key client contacts
  • Learn the equipment inspection workflows for both insurance carriers and jurisdictions
  • Develop a strong understanding of the JRS system and how it supports those workflows
  • Provide friendly, prompt support to users of JRS via phone and email
  • Enter customer support tickets for issues discovered or reported by users; track tickets until resolved and notify users of resolution
  • Lead routine (monthly/quarterly) client meetings to gather feedback, review open work items, and follow up on operational issues
  • Work cross functionally with other National Board teams to address customer issues
  • Investigate reported errors to determine root causes of customer issues and identify solutions
  • Provide administrative support to clients for report delivery, billing, and other items as needed
  • Work with services and engineering teams to help test solutions to reported issues
  • Assist with customer training as needed
  • Document customer service problems and resolutions for future reference

EDUCATION

  • Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

EXPERIENCE

  • 1-3 years’ experience in customer service, account management, or similar roles in operations/customer facing functions
  • 1+ years as part of a customer service or account management team (fulfillment, customer service, order processing)
  • 1+ years of experience using workflow support software
  • Software or insurance industry experience a plus

 Accounts Receivable Specialist

Accounts Receivable Specialist

SUMMARY

The National Board is seeking an exceptional, self-motivated, and versatile Accounts Receivable Specialist to work on-site in Columbus, OH. This person must be able to balance supporting customer relationships and ensuring timely payments are received. Regular account maintenance and proactive customer correspondence are required to maintain accurate information while providing outstanding customer service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Answering incoming calls and maintaining various accounting email boxes regarding customers’ billing/account inquiries
  • Identifying and resolving customer accounts with overdue payments
  • Contacting customers via email and phone to address outstanding balances
  • Communicating regularly with customers to maintain accurate and updated information on client accounts, including primary point of contact, address, and special billing notes
  • Reviewing and monitoring of assigned accounts and all applicable collection reports
  • Researching account disputes and billing discrepancies
  • Processing customer payments, account adjustments, and refunds where appropriate
  • Documenting daily collections activity
  • Backup to Customer Billing and Cash Application as needed
  • Maintaining accounts receivable records to ensure aging is up to date, credits and collections are applied, uncollectible amounts are accounted for, and miscellaneous differences are cleared
  • Generating monthly customer statements
  • Complete vendor forms as received from customers
  • Assisting in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Completion of formal accounting courses

EXPERIENCE

  • At least two (2) years of experience in accounts receivables and/or collections

KNOWLEDGE OF

  • Microsoft Office Suite, with excellent Excel skills
  • ERP systems, preferably Microsoft Great Plains and Aptify
  • Principles of office procedures and protocols
  • General accounting practices

 Senior Staff Engineer / Instructor

Senior Staff Engineer / Instructor

SUMMARY

The National Board of Boiler & Pressure Vessel Inspectors (NBBI) is seeking an exceptional, self-motivated, and versatile Senior Staff Engineer / Instructor with NBIC and ASME Code experience to work on-site in Columbus, OH. This person will be responsible for instructing students in a classroom setting; developing training materials; working with our curriculum team to develop/author content for online training courses; and providing technical support in areas of expertise as necessary. This candidate will possess the ability to speak clearly and concisely in small group settings and prioritize tasks on multiple projects using excellent time-management skills. This role requires the ability to communicate effectively through written, oral, and visual forms; demonstrate proficient presentation, facilitation and questioning skills; and manage an environment that fosters learning and performance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with the instructional team to determine technical content to be taught in assigned courses and seminars based on associated bodies of knowledge and industry needs
  • Develop instructional materials (slides, supporting documents, etc.) needed to teach assigned course sessions
  • Provide technical review of training material as assigned, based on experience and code knowledge
  • Work with Assessments Coordinator to write and validate questions used on National Board homework, quizzes, and examinations
  • Author online training content; work with curriculum writers and designers to guide the technical aspects of the online course throughout development until completion
  • Provide technical assistance to National Board members and staff; coordinate with the Technical Department to answer outside technical inquiries
  • Author technical articles for National Board publications upon request
  • Deliver technical presentations at National Board member sponsored programs, as requested

  • Currently holds, or has previously held, the National Board Inservice Inspector (IS) or Authorized Inspector (AI) Commission
  • Supervisor and/or nuclear experience a plus but not required

KNOWLEDGE OF

  • National Board Inspection Code (NBIC)
  • ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Codes and other standards recognized by the National Board; codes and standards development; inspection techniques; boiler and pressure vessel design, construction, operation, maintenance, and repair; all design processes; all welding and fabrication methods and principles used in Code construction.

 Training Coordinator

Training Coordinator

SUMMARY

 The National Board of Boiler & Pressure Vessel Inspectors (NBBI) is seeking an exceptional, self-motivated, and versatile Training Coordinator to work on site in Columbus, OH. The hours for this position are from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. This person will be responsible for coordinating and organizing educational material and support documents for instructor-led training; manages classroom set-up and provides support to instructors; and provides administrative support on programs and projects specific to the Training department. Someone with excellent problem solving and good judgment skills and the ability to think and plan ahead to handle multiple concurrent requests appropriately and manage time effectively. This role requires attention to detail, ability to meet tight deadlines, great organizational skills, and integrity and professionalism in interactions with others.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Coordinates production of all educational material used for instructor-led training, both in-person and virtual

  • Communicates to instructors print schedules for all training materials, including but not limited to student manuals, workshop materials, and support documents
  • Uploads, maintains, and organizes training sessions to printer’s web site to build student manuals required for each training class instance
  • Organizes outside vendor services for instructor-led training classes, as deemed necessary
  • Maintains each course checklist and other administrative documents needed to organize all instructor-led courses and seminars
  • Works with Training Department staff to facilitate shipping of student materials for all virtual/remote training classes
  • Serves as remote classroom moderator to facilitate instructor and student interaction for all virtual/remote training classes
  • Maintains inventory of training class-specific items, such as textbooks/NBIC books and student calculators, notepads, etc.

Prepares and organizes classrooms

  • Sets up classrooms prior to the start of each new training class; set tables/chairs as needed and set in place materials for each student
  • Ensures all audio/visual equipment is in working order prior to each class; notifies Director of Training and IT Department if equipment fails or requires maintenance
  • Works with Executive Assistant to obtain student name badges, table tents, and sign-in sheets needed for each class instance
  • Opens both training buildings and classrooms on scheduled training days
  • Prepares coffee for students each morning; refills as necessary throughout day and cleans up at day’s end
  • Welcomes and checks-in students on first day of each class instance

Assigned duties may also include:

  • Assists Director with organizing and/or facilitating training specific needs (in-person, online, individual, or small group) of other department/staff under the Internal Training Program
  • Works with curriculum team to proofread online courses after final build and assists curriculum writers to calculate final metrics, as needed
  • Serves as administrator/point of contact for external organizations using and/or referencing National Board training as an accepted part of their education programs. This includes reaching out to new organizations to promote the use of National Board training.
  • Works with the Programs Coordinator – Training on post-training student surveys and marketing of classes as needed
  • Other duties may be assigned
