SUMMARY

The Recruiter leads the recruitment effort and function, and plays a key role in designing, refining, and implementing strategies and processes to attract and retain high-quality talent. This position’s role is responsible for developing and maintaining a pipeline of applicants for all roles within the National Board and coordinating with the various directors and managers to provide expertise and guidance to ensure the Board has the right talent and critical skills in place to meet its business objectives. This position can be remote; however, there may be some travelling to Columbus, Ohio, from time-to-time.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Develop structured and streamlined talent acquisition framework and processes
  • Provide excellent support to candidates throughout the recruitment process to ensure a world-class candidate experience
  • Ability to build strong, productive relationships with hiring managers, understand their needs, and assist them in filling out teams with qualified candidates
  • Responsible for developing recruiting strategy and growth plan to ensure we have the right talent and critical skills in place to meet our business objectives
  • Ability to perform initial candidate phone screens for a variety of job positions for both professional aptitude and cultural fit
  • Continuously observe and improve the recruiting process through assisting with behavioral interviewing, recommending/enhancing aptitude exercises, and helping to complete the onboarding process to ensure effective selection of top candidates
  • Provide oversight and ownership of the recruiting activities and platforms and onboarding processes
  • Directly manage the talent acquisition function and recruitment pipeline strategies
  • Regularly track pipeline activity to share with external stakeholders

  • In partnership with senior leaders, work to create alignment across departments to elevate and promote existing talent from within the organization

EDUCATION

EXPERIENCE

  • Five (5)+ years of recruiting experience, proven ability to support technical (preferred software developers, QA, architects, UI/UX) recruiting, ability to support multiple corporate business functions a plus
  • Previous experience supporting and scaling operations for a company
  • Experience using metrics and data to help guide and inform decisions
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment on software engineering or technical roles
  • Proven support for candidates throughout the recruitment process to ensure a world-class candidate experience
  • Experience building strong, productive relationships with hiring managers
  • Experience in full lifecycle recruiting, including sourcing, screening, negotiations/closing, and candidate relationship management

 Senior Full Stack Developer - REMOTE

Senior Full Stack Developer - REMOTE

The National Board is looking for a Senior Full Stack developer to join its team in the development of a new inspection workflow support system for its clients. The Senior Full Stack developer role is responsible for writing and testing code as well as other software development activities related to the development and maintenance of this enterprise system. The National Board is developing a new industry solution that is not hindered by legacy technology or existing software, and the Senior Full Stack developer will be part of a growing software engineering team. The core solution will be a web-based, SaaS solution that will include a mobile application for field use.

  • Confers with product management team and fellow development team members to gain understanding of needed changes or modifications of existing programs. Resolves questions of program intent, data input, output requirements, and inclusion of internal checks and controls

 Senior Staff Engineer / Staff Engineer

Senior Staff Engineer / Staff Engineer

SUMMARY

We are currently seeking an Entry Level Staff Engineer or Senior Staff Engineer for our Pressure Relief Testing Laboratory in Worthington, Ohio. This individual will be responsible for performing standardized flow tests on pressure relief devices, calibrating our flow metering equipment, and assisting with administrative duties within the department. Once sufficiently trained, this individual will also travel both nationally and internationally to conduct audits on organizations that have applied for National Board certification. Expected travel is 25% or less.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Entry Level Staff Engineer & Senior Staff Engineer

  • Conducts standardized tests on pressure relief devices
  • Prepares test forms for daily testing activity and selects appropriate flow meter to ensure code uncertainty requirements are met
  • Performs instrument and system level calibrations for measurement, testing, and flow metering equipment
  • Processes applications for organizational and device type certifications
  • Creates and organizes documents for pressure relief device selection visits
  • Reviews new pressure relief design certification packets to ensure adherence to minimum code requirements
  • Creates test plans for new devices and non-standardized testing
  • Provides practical suggestions for improvements in test accuracy and efficiency
  • Performs device selection and test witness visits as a National Board Representative

Senior Staff Engineer

  • Performs device selection, test witness, and ASME/National Board shop review visits as an ASME/National Board Team Leader
  • Coordinates with other laboratory staff to streamline daily testing activities
  • Instructs at National Board sponsored training programs and seminars on pressure relief related content
  • Writes technical articles for National Board publications
  • Represents National Board as a committee member on ASME and National Board Code meetings as required
  • Conducts project work outside of standard daily duties to improve laboratory performance

EDUCATION

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering

Position REQUIRES a formal education in fluid mechanics and thermodynamics and cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher

EXPERIENCE

Entry Level Staff Engineer

  • Laboratory environment experience preferred
  • National Instruments LabVIEW programming experience preferred

Senior Staff Engineer

  • Minimum four (4) years’ experience in a laboratory setting and/or pressure relief device associated field
  • ASME and National Board Code experience strongly preferred

ABILITY

Review Team Leader

The National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors (NBBI) is actively seeking to hire consultants to conduct joint reviews and surveys in the continental United States. Candidates must have 10 years’ experience in the boiler and pressure vessel and/or nuclear industry and must be able to complete and pass the National Board AI and ASME/NBBI Team Leader Courses with at least an 80% score.

Other requirements:

  • Must reside within 50 miles of a major airport.
  • Must possess skills in the following areas: communication, organization/time management and code knowledge, and be able to analyze and process information in a timely manner.
