The National Board asks that attendees of the January 2022 NBIC Committee Meetings adhere to the host hotel, city, and state's COVID requirements.

  • Each attendee is responsible for his or her own guest room and related charges.
  • The special room rate for NBIC attendees is $209. To secure this rate, reservations must be made by Saturday, December 31, 2021.
  • A valid credit card is required to hold each individual’s reservation. Cancellations will be accepted without penalty if notice is received at least 24 hours prior to arrival.
  • Room rate will be available three days prior and three days after event dates, subject to availability of guest rooms at the time of reservation. Check-in time is 4:00 PM. Checkout time is 12:00 PM.

NBIC Receptions

  • Wednesday — The Wednesday Night Reception will be hosted offsite at The Smoking Gun, a popular neighborhood bar and restaurant. It’s approximately a 12-minute walk from The Westgate Hotel or a 6-minute drive. This reception is for adults and is not a child-friendly event. View directions HERE.

  • Thursday — All attendees and guests are invited to a complimentary breakfast and lunch, which will be served at the hotel in Le Fontainebleau. Breakfast will be served from 7:00 AM to 8:00 AM. Lunch will be served from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM.

The Westgate Hotel Highlights
  • Dining: The Westgate Room, located on the first floor, is a fine dining restaurant that serves gourmet breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Dress code: smart casual.

    The Plaza Bar, also located on the first floor, was voted “Best Piano Bar” by San Diego Magazine. It serves appetizers, cocktails, and premium wine and spirits.

  • The Pool at Aquavie: This is a heated lap pool located on the roof of the hotel. A hot tub is also on location. The outdoor pool area also features a 1/10th mile running track and three outdoor studios that include treadmills, elliptical machines, stationary bicycles, and circuit training equipment.
  • AquaVie Fitness + Wellness Club: The fitness center is located inside on the lower lobby level. This facility offers treadmills, elliptical machines, free weights, water, fresh fruit, and towels, and can be accessed 24 hours a day with a room key. Spa services are also available.
Transportation

San Diego International Airport to the Westgate Hotel is approximately a 15-minute cab drive. Taxis depart from the designated taxi zones located at the transit islands on the Arrivals/Baggage Claim Level adjacent to each terminal. All airport taxis accept major credit cards, but some are upon request.

  • USS Midway Museum

    The USS Midway is one of America’s longest-serving aircraft carriers of the 20th century. Admission includes more than 60 exhibits, 29 restored aircraft, and a self-guided audio tour that is narrated by Midway sailors. Open 10 AM – 5 PM. (Approximately 10-minute drive from hotel, or 20-minute walk.)

  • Maritime Museum

    The Maritime Museum of San Diego restores, maintains, and operates historic vessels. The museum has one of the world’s finest collections of historic ships, including the world’s oldest active ship, Star of India. Its collection of ships and exhibits are available for daily public tours. Open 9 AM to 8 PM. (Approximately 10-minute drive from hotel, or 25-minute walk.)

  • Seaport Village

    This unique waterfront destination features 17 dining venues and 45 one-of-a-kind shops. (Approximately 10-minute drive from hotel, or 20-minute walk.)

  • Other

    There are many restaurants and venues within walking distance (or a short drive) from the hotel. In addition to Seaport Village, other nearby attractions include: Little Italy and Old Town, the Gaslamp Quarter, and Petco Park – each area offers distinct eateries, sundries, and shopping options. Check with the hotel concierge for area dining/entertainment maps and recommendations.
