NBIC News

More than 100 National Board Inspection Code (NBIC) committee members and guests addressed dozens of business items during meetings held July 12-15, 2021, at the Hilton Netherland Plaza Hotel in Cincinnati, Ohio. Thirteen meetings were conducted over four days, including task groups, subgroups, subcommittees on Installation, Inspection, Repairs and Alterations, and Pressure Relief Devices, and the NBIC Executive and Main committees.

Part of the historic Carew Tower complex, the hotel dates to 1931 and features stunning French Art Deco décor, Rookwood Pottery, 18 murals, and intricate details and metalwork throughout. Notable past guests include Elvis Presley, Doris Day, UK Prime Minister Winston Churchill, and former US presidents Kennedy, Nixon, and George H.W. Bush. The NBIC Main Committee met in the hotel’s Hall of Mirrors, inspired by the Hall of Mirrors at the Palace of Versailles.
