Gary Scribner named ASME Fellow

Gary Scribner, NBBI assistant executive director-technical, was honored as an ASME Fellow during ASME BPV Code Week, which was Oct. 28-31 in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.

According to the ASME website, the ASME Committee of Past Presidents confers the Fellow grade of membership on worthy candidates to recognize their outstanding engineering achievements.

“I'm honored to be named an ASME Fellow and join such a distinguished group of professionals in our industry,” Scribner said. “It is such a privilege to become part of a fellowship commitment to our field and continuing to advance standards that drive innovation, safety, and sustainability.”

Nominated by ASME Members and Fellows, an ASME Member must have 10 or more years of active practice and at least 10 years of active corporate membership (consist of Honorary Members, Fellows and Members) in ASME.

Scribner, a former chief boiler inspector for Missouri, joined the National Board staff in January 2014 as manager of technical services before being promoted to his current role in January 2018. Scribner also served more than 22 years in the US Navy.

An ASME Fellow receives a certificate, a fellow badge and a fellow lapel pin.
