Melissa Wadkinson receives an honorary membership from NBBI Executive Director Joel Amato and NBBI Board of Trustees Chair Rob Troutt.

Ben Crawford and Melissa Wadkinson were recognized as NBBI honorary members on May 13 during the Members’ Meeting.

Crawford served as chief boiler inspector for the state of Georgia for 12 years. He joined the Georgia Department of Labor/Safety Engineering Division in 1996, serving as boiler inspector, elevator inspector, and carnival amusement inspector. In 2005, he was promoted to supervisor over inspections. He also rewrote Georgia’s rules and regulations to promote consistency in boiler operation and safety.

Wadkinson, chief engineer for The Fulton Companies, has over 30 years of industry experience encompassing hot oil, steam, and hot water products and systems. Her boiler and pressure vessel safety service includes being vice chair of the NBIC Main Committee, a member of the JRS Register Task Group, and chair of the ASME Section IV committee.

Wadkinson holds a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts and a Master of Business Administration from Syracuse.

Honorary membership is given to an individual who has made outstanding and noteworthy contributions toward improving the development, implementation, or enforcement of safety principles related to the boiler and pressure vessel industry.
