National Board Seeks Industry Presentations

Presentations during the General Session are an essential part of the National Board’s General Meeting.

Professionals within the boiler and pressure vessel industry are invited to submit presentation proposals for the 94th General Meeting on May 10-13, 2026, in Denver, Colorado. We are seeking informative and timely topics relevant to the boiler and pressure vessel industry. The submission deadline is October 31.

Topics of interest include the safe operation, maintenance, construction, repair, and inspection of boilers and pressure vessels, as well as:

  • New technologies
  • Future developments
  • Ethics
  • Case studies
  • Safety valves and other unit components
  • Code development
  • Testing codes and standards
  • Risk and reliability
  • Training

Presentations for the 93rd General Meeting in Salt Lake City, Utah, covered a variety of topics, including:

  • Rodger Adams, South Region Manager, Machinery Breakdown, Zurich Resilience Solutions, and Tom Clark, Chief Boiler Inspector, State of Oregon: “Boiler Inspections: An Evolving Responsibility”
  • Luca Costa, CEO, International Institute of Welding: “Use of ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code Globally”
  • John Siefert, Area Lead, EPRI: “Emerging Issues in the Power Generation Industry”
  • Paige Witkowski, Welding and Metallurgical Engineer International Welding Bureau and Republic Testing Laboratories: “Practical Approaches for Successful Production Welding”
  • Mark Mooney, NBBI Director of Operations – Software and Safety, and Jacques Couvillon, NBBI Director of Product Management: “JRS Update”

Presentations should be limited to 30 minutes.

Those interested in submitting presentations for consideration should send an abstract of no longer than 200 words in English (please do not include supplementary materials) to Wendy White, director of communications, at wwhite@nbbi.org by October 31. Speakers chosen to deliver General Session presentations will be notified by November 30.
