Statement Regarding Legal Proceedings Initiated by CentralSquare Technologies

The National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors (“NBBI”) is a nonprofit organization that has promoted safety through uniformity in the construction, installation, repair, maintenance, and inspection of pressure equipment for over 100 years. Consistent with its mission, NBBI internally developed a software platform, Jurisdictional Reporting System (“JRS”), that streamlines and supports the entire boiler and pressure vessel safety workflow into a centralized system. We are proud to have organically built a modern software platform for the industry with its direct input on function and feel. NBBI’s four core values -- integrity, quality, customer service, and teamwork – drove the development of JRS for the industry, by the industry.

Recently, as you may already know, CentralSquare Technologies, LLC (“CST”) filed suit against NBBI related to its development of JRS. CST alleges that NBBI used CST’s now-expired patents and/or that NBBI used certain CST’s trade secrets. NBBI has directly communicated to CST that its allegations are factually and legally unfounded and that all allegations are expressly denied. NBBI is vigorously defending against CST’s accusations, and we have engaged a national law firm, Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP, to act as our counsel.
