National Board Alabama Member Retires

Former National Board member representing Alabama, Ralph Pate, announced his retirement effective April 1, 2016. Mr. Pate served in the US Air Force and was trained as a heating systems technician. His civilian career began with Hartford Steam Boiler Company. He then worked for the state of Georgia under the very first Georgia chief, Earl Everett, for nearly 20 years. In October of 2003, Pate was recommended by Everett to temporarily help the state of Alabama set up a new boiler program. Then, in 2004, Pate was chosen as Alabama’s first chief inspector and served in that role until his retirement.
