Donald Cook Announced as General Session Speaker

The National Board announces Donald Cook, Director, California Principal Safety Engineer and Chair of NBIC Main Committee, will address the 86th General Meeting May 8, 2017, in Anchorage, Alaska. His presentation is entitled, “A Century as a Jurisdiction.”

Donald Cook is principal safety engineer for the Pressure Vessel Unit of California's Department of Industrial Relations. Overseeing one of the largest National Board jurisdictions in North America, he possesses more than 30 years of experience in the pressure equipment industry.

Don earned his degree in mechanical engineering from Cal Poly. Starting his career in 1984 as an engineer for a private company, Don later joined the state in 1989 as an associate engineer. He was named principal engineer in 2003, and was elected to National Board membership that same year. An active member of the California Boiler Inspectors Association, Don possesses IS and AI commissions and B, N, and R endorsements.
