Paul Brennan Jr. Announced as General Session Speaker

 

The National Board announces Paul Brennan Jr. will address the 88th General Meeting, Monday, May 6, 2019, in Salt Lake City, Utah. His presentation is entitled “One Code, One Inspector, One Stamp, One Hundred Years: The History of the National Board.”

Mr. Brennan is the retired Director of Public Affairs for the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors and author of the acclaimed engineering history book, Blowback: An Anecdotal Look at Pressure Equipment and Other Harmless Devices That Can Kill You!

Having served the National Board for 26 years, he was responsible for National Board communications, marketing, and government affairs functions. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degrees in Journalism and English from Kent State University, the Pittsburgh native began his 50-year career in northeast Ohio as a broadcast journalist. As such, he reported numerous news stories for major national broadcast networks and wire services. He has also written articles and lectured on technical issues, marketing, and government policy at universities, and before international professional groups and associations. Additionally, he has served as a professional adviser to journalism students at The Ohio State University.

Blowback: An Anecdotal Look at Pressure Equipment and Other Harmless Devices That Can Kill You! has been honored with seven national and international writing awards.

His second book, One Code. One Inspector. One Stamp. One Hundred Years. will be released this fall.
