The summer 2021 BULLETIN cover story introduces Rob Troutt, the newly elected chairman of the National Board.

Following is an excerpt:

Working hard on behalf of the National Board membership and guiding the organization into the next 100 years is at the top of newly elected Chairman Rob Troutt’s agenda.

“As chairman, I’m looking forward to working more closely with the membership and the Board of Trustees, and helping our membership get more involved,” he said.

Troutt began a two-year term as National Board chairman on June 1, 2021. He was elected during the 89th General Meeting, held May 10-14 in Scottsdale, Arizona.

He ran for the chairman position after serving as an at-large trustee since 2017 and is only the second chairman to hail from Texas. (The first, H.G. Parker, served from 1969-1971).

Troutt said he ran for the chairmanship to help members obtain National Board Commissions and Endorsements and to increase membership involvement in code committees and National Board activities.

“C.O. Myers set the stage for the first 100 years. We now need to set the National Board up for the next 100 years,” he said. “We’ve got to be forward thinking for the next generation of chiefs.”
