Board Chair Eben Creaser Outlines His Priorities in Q&A

Eben Creaser, who was reelected as Chair of the National Board during the 94th General Meeting on May 12 in Denver, Colorado, brings more than four decades of industry experience, a passion for education, and a commitment to advancing pressure equipment safety to the position.

He assumed the role on Sept. 1, 2025, when Robby Troutt retired with eight months remaining in his term and was elected during the October 2025 Members’ Meeting to finish Troutt’s term.

In this edition of the BULLETIN, Creaser discusses his vision for NBBI's future, including expanding access to training, advancing the Jurisdictional Reporting System, developing new professional qualifications, and preparing the next generation of inspectors.

Creaser, who is the chief boiler inspector for the province of New Brunswick and became the first Canadian elected Chair, also reflects on leadership lessons from past Chairs, the importance of collaboration, and the responsibility that comes with leading an organization that has safeguarded life and property for more than a century.

"It is honestly a very humbling experience," Creaser said. "To know that those individuals have placed their trust in me to help lead this organization ... is something I do not take lightly."

This edition also includes a recap of the 94th General Meeting, which was May 10-13.
