Members Perry, Kline Announce Retirements
Roy L. Perry
retired as chief inspector of Nevada on August 1. Mr. Perry studied general education at Golden West Community College. He began his career in boiler inspection with the US Navy, where he served from 1965 to 1973, and then from 1976 to 1978. In 1978, he joined Factory Mutual as a consultant, and then worked for various insurance companies from 1985 to 1992. He then joined the state of Nevada and worked as a boiler specialist and supervisor before becoming chief inspector. He served the state for over 20 years.
Lawrence R. Kline
retired as director of the boiler division for the commonwealth of Pennsylvania on August 8. Mr. Kline’s professional work experience included installation and maintenance of all types of boiler systems. He worked for Conrail Maintenance of Way and also served as a local-level instructor for the Pennsylvania Fire Academy. In 1980, he joined the Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry (liquid petroleum gas safety), and transferred to the boiler division in 1983. In June 2011, he assumed the role of director, boiler division, and maintained that post until his retirement.
