National Board has announced Michael Pischke, vice president of the Pressure Vessel Manufacturers Association (PVMA), will address the General Session of the 80^th General Meeting this May in Las Vegas. His topic: “The Authorized Inspector — Manufacturer Relationship in a Mass Production Shop.”

 

Mr. Pischke began work in the pressure vessel industry 32 years ago as a pipe welder. After working ten years as a welder in the field, he entered college full time to pursue a BS in metallurgical engineering and later an MS in material science.  

 

For the past sixteen years, Mr. Pischke has worked as the quality assurance manager for Alfa Laval where he manages the ASME Section VIII, National Board NBIC, and ISO 9001 quality systems. Additionally, he is responsible for the welding and NDE qualification programs.

 

Mr. Pischke is vice president of PVMA and serves on the Advisory Committee for the National Board Board of Trustees. He is a member of the ASME Code Committees as vice chair for Standards Committee on Qualifications for Authorized Inspection (QAI), chair of the Subgroup on Brazing (SC IX), and a member of Subgroup on Fabrication & Inspection (SC VIII), BPV Committee on Welding and Brazing (IX), and BPV Committee on Pressure Vessels (VIII).
