Portland to Host Off-Site “VR” and “RO” Repair Seminars
 
The National Board Pressure Relief Valve Repair Seminar (VR) and the Boiler and Pressure Vessel Repair Seminar (RO) will be offered off-site this fall in Portland, Oregon. Enrollment for both seminars is now open.
 
The seminars will take place at the Hyatt Place Portland Airport/Cascade Station. Click here for hotel information. Dates and tuition are as follows:
 
VR Seminar: September 22-26. Off-site tuition is $1,595.
RO Seminar: October 21-23. Off-site tuition is $895.
 
About the Seminars
 
The Pressure Relief Valve Repair Seminar (VR), an intensive five-day seminar covering each area of pressure relief valves, provides management, QC personnel, and supervisors the latest and most in-depth information available. Topics include inspection, assembly, and repair. In addition, the course offers an overview of the "VR" certificate program.
 
Students gain practical knowledge on preparing quality control programs, repair and alteration rules, qualifications and use of standard welding procedures, basic codes of construction, and compliance with jurisdictional requirements. Click for complete seminar description.
 
The Boiler and Pressure Vessel Repair Seminar (RO) is designed to take organizations preparing to perform repairs and/or alterations in accordance with the National Board Inspection Code (NBIC) through the process from start to finish.
 
Day one takes students through the National Board accreditation process in its entirety, including an overview of the NBIC. Detailed information on accreditation focuses on quality control programs, QC manuals, and forms and applications.
 
Days two and three continue with a step-by-step through the repair process. Instructors will guide students through a repair and alteration beginning with determining the scope of the repair/alteration to final stamping and proper documentation. Click for complete seminar description.
