The 85th General Meeting Hotel Preview:
Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center

Attendees of the commemorative 85th National Board/ASME General Meeting May 9-13, 2016, will experience the tropical wonder of the host hotel, the Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center, in Kissimmee, Florida.

This premier convention property has over 400,000 square feet of flexible conference space, including 103 event rooms and 58 breakout rooms, making it an ideal host hotel to accommodate the meeting room needs of the National Board and ASME.

Climate-controlled glass atriums, indoor gardens, water features, and regional architecture stylings are trademarks of the Gaylord collection of hotels. The Gaylord Palms is a unique Gaylord property constructed to reflect Spanish Renaissance architecture. Three Florida landscapes are recreated inside the Gaylord Palms: the historic old-world charm of St. Augustine, the island spirit of Key West, and the mysterious waters of the Everglades.

Outside, the Everglades-inspired Cypress Springs Family Fun Water Park features a zero-entry swimming pool with four water slides, a treehouse playground, oversized tipping bucket, and poolside movies on a giant screen. The South Beach Pool is an adult-only area that features a covered restaurant and bar.

The Gaylord Palms is only 20 minutes from Orlando International Airport and less than 10 minutes from Walt Disney World® and other Orlando theme parks. The hotel offers a shuttle service to Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, and Downtown Disney on a first-come, first-serve basis. Additional amenities include an on-site business center, nine restaurants and lounges; seven retail shops; four-and-a-half acres of indoor gardens; nightly entertainment; a luxurious spa; and a fitness center.
