National Board Mourns William H. Dormer Jr. 

With deep sadness the National Board announces the April 1 passing of former National Board member William H. Dormer Jr. He was 83.
 
Mr. Dormer represented the state of Massachusetts for over 20 years. In 1969 he received National Board Commission No. 6528 with “N,” “S,” “C,” “I,” and “B” endorsements. In 1979 he was appointed chief inspector and became a National Board member. He retired in April 1982 before joining National Board field staff.
 
Mr. Dormer was graduated from BMC Durfee High School in Falls River, Massachusetts, in 1944. He attended Durfee Technical College and Bristol Community College, where he studied engineering and steam boiler maintenance. During World War II, he served in the US Navy and, after the war, in the Naval Reserves and Seabees.
 
Mr. Dormer is survived by his wife Ruth, a daughter, two sons, three sisters, two grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
