The National Board Remembers Michael Verhagen

The National Board is saddened to learn of the passing of Michael Verhagen on May 28, 2023. He was 70 years old.

Mr. Verhagen was a member from 1996-2016, representing the state of Wisconsin, and he was recognized as an honorary member in 2017.

Before becoming chief boiler inspector, Mr. Verhagen was a mechanical safety specialist for Wisconsin (1991-96) and a boiler inspector for the state (1985-91).

The native of Fort Hood, Texas, also was a power engineering instructor for Milwaukee Area Technical College. 

Mr. Verhagen served in the US Navy from 1972-76.
