2012 Technical Scholarship Recipient Named
 
Conor O’Brien of Redmond, Washington, has been awarded a $6,000 collegiate scholarship as this year’s Technical Scholarship recipient. Conor is pursuing a bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering at the University of Washington. He is the son of National Board Commissioned Inspector Edward (Jake) O’Brien, a 30-year veteran inspector for FM Global.
 
O’Brien plans to acquire a Ph.D. in physical chemistry and work in nanotechnology and electronics. Long-term he would like to return to an institution to teach the next generation of students and to conduct research. Learn more about Conor in the upcoming issue of the BULLETIN, coming in June.
 

 
Each year the National Board offers a $6,000 financial scholarship for up to two eligible students enrolled full-time in an engineering program or closely related engineering major.
